If you want to see a barrage of different categories of horror times, one of your first stops for checking this out is making a search query on Etsy of your favorite type of horror items.
Once acquainted with the cottage industry and what it has to offer, if you want to shell out some considerable cash in exchange for collectible horror items, you can go from the general to the specific. I’m talking about brands offering you the greatest bang for your buck. Like for instance Sideshow, Neca, or Nightmare Toys, just to drop three names off the top of my head.
It’s a Very Big Heap of Horror Items
You get overwhelmed fast if you don’t approach a mega-portal like Etsy with an ultra-focused phrase of what you are exactly looking for. Entering something broad and ambiguous as “horror collectibles” gives a list with all kind of assorted horror items that goes on and on. When you do that on Etsy, you actually can’t see everything tagged with that keyword, because the portal’s software stops dishing out pages at, if I remember correctly, the 60th or whereabouts of search results pages.
If you calculate how many items the keyword has, with how many there are in total, in the only 60 pages that are displayed, you realize there’s a greater percentage of items that you can’t see sequentially, going page after page. That’s the kind of thing that a horror-head like me or you would do. I did it, actually, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.
On Etsy, horror collectibles as a search phrase gives a grand total of almost 120k items! Go figure, you could be six months turning pages if it didn’t stop at page number 60. Believe it or not, I would have done that, bookmarking the page I left off and picking up later, wouldn’t you?
That’s Etsy, but let’s not even start talking about other portals like Amazon or eBay, which are at least as big as Etsy for horror fans; they are, obviously, greater in general. I picked Etsy as an example because it seems to have been consistently adopted by horror cottage industries and horror craftsmen on a massive scale.
Seriously, it’s a Big, Bad Horror Collectibles Pile
I love horror action figures and have seen plenty. From little lead figurines to life-size setups. Years ago I made a list of manufactures that attracted me but I think I lost it. Not long ago, I went searching for outlets for this kind of collectible on the web. I knew there were going to be a mixture of big as well as small players, these are some of the ones I found (vendor/manufacturer) on my first search:
- CreepyCompany.com
- www.merlinsltd.com
- Figureland.co.uk
- ManOfActionFigures.com
- EntertainmentEarth.com
- NightmareToys.com
- NECAonline.com
- HorrorCenter.net
- MonstersInMotion.com
The site on the list above are just the big names, on the first page of my searches, for the phrases I searched for: “Horror Action Figure” and “Horror Figurine”. What also happened is that I found sites that specialize in horror and sell other horror stuff, not just action figures, toys, or dioramas.
I noticed that, for instance, Entertainment Earth carries a few life-size dummies. They call them life-size replicas. One site that popped up when I searched for this kind of product (horror life-size dummies) was AliBaba.com.
What I found on AliBaba.com was an enfilade of items that were way more industrial, had lower production values, and in general, were more of an in-between product that was, to give an example, carried by outfits like animatronics sellers.
Niche Horror Collectibles Websites
It delighted me to find out that there are stores on the web specializing in all types of horror things, like horrorcenter.com or nightmaretoys.com, the latter having a catalog of more than thirty horror product categories. I repeat, these are only the better optimized for search engines, and the first pages at that.
Curating at least the ten first pages of around ten search engines is something I’ll do in the future for your enjoyment; to know the rest of the big outfits, and the ones that are not so big. Especially the one-man or one-woman operations or other similar formats of the horror item cottage industry.
Using Shock Depot you can find the best deals of the moment, but already curated. You can even create focused lists of their products for you to go directly to them and not needing to trawl endlessly through search engine results pages.
About start-ups and cottage-industry-grade horror stuff vendors, I think that’s a whole different quesadilla that requires deep listening in social networks like Facebook, Etsy, DeviantArt, Slasher. And that, without even thinking to start sifting through the mountain of horror things, in the mammoth sales portals like eBay, Amazon, or AliExpress. This article below lists many more: https://realwaystoearnmoneyonline.com/sites-like-etsy/ These are some of the keywords I found during my research:
- Horror Collectibles
- Horror Action figures
- Horror Latex Masks
- Horror Figurine
- Lead Collectible
- Vinyl Collectible
- Plastic Collectible
- Horror Statue
- Horror Statuette
- Horror Toy
What do you want to do with your Collection?
Wouldn’t you like to approach your collecting of horror items as not just a hobby based on the whims and desires of your aesthetic needs, but also as a systematic endeavor that you do with mires of maybe not keeping the items forever, but waiting for them to appreciate, to sell them and make a profit?
I mean, one thing is purchasing stuff compulsively, and another kind of very different situation is to calculate an equivalence between your collecting, aesthetic and emotional needs and your wish to profit. Sometimes, when it’s about collectibles, the manufacturers themselves make it easy for you to profit from your collecting.
If you want to start to profit from collecting horror items, you must, at the outset, be on alert for any kind of new limited edition hitting the market, or for any other similar kind of line that maybe is not brand-new but that still sells for a reasonable price.
You buy something that has a certain monetary value now, and then, ten or twenty years in the future you can make a reasonable chunk of profit from the items when it becomes extremely rare. This happens, and I’ve seen toys that are two decades old going for prices in the low four figures.
Another way of that comes to mind for making money with a horror items collection is creating all kind of photographs, some simple, others more complex, and some downright story-telling pictures with a well done diorama background, and then uploading them to some of the websites that allow you to monetize your photos, like:
- SmugMug Pro
- Twenty20
- Dreamstime
- Can Stock Photo
- Stocksy
- 123RF
- Etsy
- EyeEm
- 500px
- Foap
- Getty Images
- Alamy
- Depositphotos
- Adobe Stock
- iStock Photo
- Pixieset
- Zenfolio

All sort of good Horror Collectibles Wanted
There is a big demand for all kinds of horror collectibles and I urge you not to take the lists of item categories on this page at face value. I mean that, as things stand now, when it comes to horror items, especially considering the cottage industry market, the sky is the limit.
This is to say that, certainly, there are more categories of horror items and horror collectibles than the ones listed on this page. The inventiveness of horror manufactures, big and small alike, has no limits and the lists of categories on this page are bound to grow with time, as we discover new niches. Around Halloween is the best time of each year to discover what horror objects are up for sale.
If you are yourself craft horror collectibles, or work for an outfit that caters to this niche, you have all the facilities and freedom to create promotions for said items here, on Shock Depot.

You may create a web page offline along with your advertising and your brand media style, after which paste it in Shock Depot’s guest post editor, through the code tab within the editor.
Considering it’s your content, you ought to be able to style it in any manner you want to, and not be tied to dress your advertisement on shock Depot’s style; that limitation might make each contribution too vanilla and possibly unattractive. If you desire it, you can leave the site’s vanilla style for the page of your ad, in that case, your contribution will look more like a part of the site and not as brand-focused as if you designed the page of your advert with colors, fonts and other elements of your branding.
Your pages can feature pictures and images, but if you are going to complement your content with video, please embed them from someplace else, like for instance, from YouTube or Vimeo. Likewise, you can source the media on your content on Shock Depot from the Creative Commons items available on this page of the website.
